About the ACA qualification

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) was established in 1880 and is a world leader in the accountancy and finance profession.


The Institute currently has over 134,000 members in more than 160 countries around the world and a recent survey indicated that 86% of FTSE 100 company boards include at least one ICAEW member.


To obtain the ACA qualification with the ICAEW you must complete a training contract and obtain suitable work experience with a firm as well as pass the exams at the Professional Stage and Advanced Stage.
