Health and safety in the workplace refers to the measures and practices that organizations put in place to protect the health and well-being of their employees and others who may be affected by their operations. Other examples of health and safety procedures that may be in place in a workplace include fire safety procedures, procedures for handling hazardous materials, and ergonomic assessments to ensure that work environments are set up in a way that promotes the health and well-being of employees.
